Heute trenne ich mich schweren Herzens von einem Warbow und einem Satz passenden Pfeilen. Der englische Eiben Langbogen hat 75 Pfund @ 30". Er hat eine bescheidene Laenge von 78". Die Tips sind aus Kuh Horn. Die Sehne Fast Flight mit 12 Straengen im "Rattail- Style". Das offene Ende im Flemish Twist wird mit einem "Bowyers Knot" (Timber hitch) befestigt.

Die Form des english Longbow ist D-foermig. Sowohl im Querschnitt als auch im "stringed" Zustand. Er biegt sich beim Auszug im "full Compass".

Der Kriegsbogen wurde im Mittelalter als Atillerie Waffe eingesetzt. Um eine moeglichst grosse Entfernung zu erreichen, zieht man die String bis zum Ohr aus. Die schweren, extra langen Pfeile haben oft eine "Bodkin Point". Diese waren am besten geeignet um die schwere Ruestung zu durchschlagen. 

Das Fletching der Arrows war mindestens 7" lang. Heutzutage verwenden wir Truthahn Federn, frueher waren sie oft Gans oder was verfuegbar war. Der Schaft war mindestens 32" lang und hatte einen Durchmesser von 3-achtel bis halb". Entweder parallel oder getapert (Bobtailed) aus Esche.
Damit der schwere Bogen (bis 150 Pfund) den Pfeil nicht spaltet, wurde die "Selfnock" mit einem Horn Insert verstaerkt.
