This is a recurve self bow that I make and sell, it is made from one piece of Hickory from a tree I cut down some years back. This one in particular is only a 45 lb bow, but it shoots well and I like it. It was made to customer specifications to be 45 lbs at 28 inches and 60 inches overall length.
Note that the handle on the bow is made from brain tanned deer hide, and the belly has been toasted for an added effect.
Here at full draw you can see the tiller in motion.

This is a close up of the nocks (where the string attaches on the ends)
and here is a close up on the handle and arrow rest.
Over all I feel that the recurve bows are fun to shoot and reliable, I still use my stick bow over all others, but one of these seasons I may give this bow a spin for deer hunting.

Thanks to all of my students and teachers out there, and thanks for keeping the old ways alive!!
